How to Become a Client
Becoming a client of Ayres Presser Elder Law starts with an initial Consultation. When you schedule an initial Consultation, you will be asked to provide some important information that will ensure that the firm can provide you with the best possible advice. This will include an intake form with your personal contact information and in many cases, a detailed financial worksheet that lists your assets, such as bank accounts and real estate. It is essential that you return the intake form and financial worksheet as soon as possible after scheduling your initial Consultation. If this information is not received by our office within one (1) week of your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.
During the initial Consultation, you will meet with one of our experienced attorneys who will listen to your story and assess your needs and concerns. You will have the opportunity to ask the attorney questions and advice. After the initial Consultation, the attorney will send you a detailed summary of your meeting and recommendations tailored to your specific situation and goals. You will also receive a Fee Agreement that explains the firm’s legal fees and costs for the recommended services. Most of the firm’s work is done on a flat fee basis. The legal fees and costs quoted in the Fee Agreement will not change, unless the scope of our representation changes.
For cases involving Medicaid eligibility and nursing home planning, Ayres Presser Elder Law charges an initial Consultation fee of $400.00. For most other cases, the cost of your initial Consultation is included in the legal fees quoted in your Fee Agreement.
